Prince George’s County Police and Federal Agencies Conduct 14 Search Warrants

Prince George’s County, Maryland…The Prince George’s County Police Department, in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), conducted 14 search warrants today in Prince George’s County as part of the multi-national “Operation Xcellerator” targeting the Sinaloa Cartel, a major Mexican drug trafficking organization. These search warrants are the result of a 21 month investigation conducted by federal officials and members of the police department’s Narcotics Enforcement Division. Arrests were made in California, Minnesota and Maryland and involved federal, state and local law enforcement agencies in those states, as well as authorities in Mexico and Canada.
The locations in Prince George’s County where the search warrants were conducted include:
10000 block of Armor Court in Clinton
900 block of Lake Shore Drive in Bowie
1400 block of Iverson Street in Oxon Hill
4000 block of 28th Avenue in Temple Hills (2 locations)
1000 block of Karen Boulevard in Capitol Heights
10200 block of Thrift Road in Clinton
10400 block of Twin Knoll Way in Upper Marlboro
8100 block of Pats Place in Fort Washington
13800 block of Old Indian Head Road in Brandywine
5000 block of Silver Hill Court in Suitland
6500 block of Walker Mill Rd in Capitol Heights
2300 block of Pioneer Court in Fort Washington
1800 block of Cedarwood Court in Glenarden
The overall nationwide operation to date has netted over 750 arrests and $59 million dollars in U.S. currency as well as 12,535 kilograms of cocaine and more than 16,000 pounds of marijuana. Forty eight (48) individuals were arrested today in California, Minnesota and Maryland.
“The arrests in Prince George’s County are the result of an ongoing collaboration between the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Prince George’s County Police Department”, said Prince George’s County Police Chief Roberto Hylton. “We believe
that these federal partnerships allow us to better protect our residents from the scourge of illegal drugs. Our participation in this nationwide effort to take down the Sinaloa Cartel will make our communities in Prince George’s County safer.”
