Calvert

Associated Gangs in this county:
Hells Angels

Calvert County is located in southern Maryland adjacent to Anne Arundel, Charles, Prince George’s, and St. Mary’s counties and is bordered by the Chesapeake Bay. According to the 2000 census, the population is approximately 75,000. Most of the county is rural and suburban and there is limited gang activity.

Gangs are a limited problem in Calvert County. The presence of graffiti in some areas suggests possible gang activity. However, with the exception of an occasional MS13 member passing through the area, and possible transient neighborhood gangs, there is no known gang crime in the County. There has been some Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs (OMGs) in the area but no known criminal activity since Federal prosecution of leaders of the North Beach Chapter of the Hell’s Angels.

If a parent is concerned about a child as potentially being involved in gangs, the first resource is the child’s school counselor or pupil personnel worker. For a list of school telephone numbers, please consult list of schools. Click on Elementary, Middle of High School homepages on the right side of the page.
