Maryland couple on trial for abusing a vulnerable adult.

The Washington County District Court will be trying Daniel Lee Meldron and Angie Rebecca Meldron with theft from a mentally disabled man. 

 

The pair, 39 and 23 years old respectively, obtained signature on power of attorney from the Boonsboro man and robbed him of $300,000.00. 

 

While the Meldrons were enjoying the proceeds from sale of the victim's twenty-six antique cars and emptying his personal bank accounts he was living in squalor with neither food nor heat. 

 

Charges of adult abuse and obtaining property from a vulnerable adult were pressed against Angie Meldron in December.

 

Daniel Meldron is charged with obtaining property from a vulnerable adult plus theft and theft scheme charges.

 

The victim is now in the care of Social Services.
