Brandon Chambers, a 25 year old Baltimore resident, was sentenced on Thursday for the shooting death of Shanika Pretlow. He was sentenced to life in prison. 25 years of that sentence was not suspended.
Chambers shot Pretlow in 2005 because he believed she had given him HIV in an unprotected sexual interlude. He bragged that he had killed her for giving him HIV after they were seen leaving a night spot together.
Pretlow, who is survived by her four children, was HIV negative at the time of her death.
