No charges filed against Maryland State Trooper in fatal accident.

No charges will be filed against a Maryland State Trooper in fatal accident.  The accident left Maynard Lowery and his sister Alma, 88 and 87 years old respectively, dead.

The trooper Philip Willoughby struck the Lowery’s car in a 35 mph zone. Willoughby was traveling 57 mph.  He was reportedly operating his lights and sirens.

Talbot County prosecutors decided not to press charges after the Maryland State Police sent information from an internal investigation.  .

Willoughby remains on active duty.
