Clarence Bennet of Annapolis Maryland has been convicted of child abuse. The counts are first degree child abuse, second degree child abuse, reckless endangerment and second degree assault.
First degree indicates premeditation. Second degree indicates no premeditation.
The three year old victim, son of the 25 year old Bennet, was burned over nearly 50% of his body and medical treatments were extensive.
The defendant claimed he did not know the water was scalding and said he “found” his son “face down” in the tub.
Sentencing will occur Feb. 20th.
