The public can report gang information to the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office at 410-228-4142.

 



Dorchester County is located on the eastern shore of Maryland adjacent to Talbot, Caroline and Wicomico counties and is bordered by the Chesapeake Bay and Delaware. According to the 2000 census, the population is approximately 30,500. Most of the county is rural but 11,000 live in the city of Cambridge.

Police report minimal gang-related crime. Gangs are an emerging problem on the eastern shore and police are alert to possible Crips, Bloods, Black Mambo Kings, Black Guerilla Family and MS-13 activity.

If a parent is concerned about a child as potentially being involved in gangs, the first resource is the child’s school counselor or pupil personnel worker. For a list of school telephone numbers, please consult list
